I just remembered a funny Youtube clip about a digital native's vision of how his body will evolve to more efficiently interact with his computer. Although it's in Spanish, you can easily get the gist of it. His head will be bigger to accommodate his larger brain. He will only have one eye for looking at his computer screen. His ears will atrophy because he will use telepathy and speak the language of routers. He will have two fingers on his right hand for using the mouse and one finger on his left hand for typing.
Is this a cautionary tale against computers per se? Not exactly. It's more of a warning against building a wall of technology between oneself and others. Teachers would be wise to promote technology for collaborative ends, lest their students suffer the same fate.
